Description

The Multiplier-Amplifier-Coupler assembly combines up to three key RF components into a single enclosure for ease of deployment on the antenna range. The small lightweight box is easily mounted on a probe carriage or AUT and is powered by a DC cable. Optional frequency coverage down to 0.1 GHz is available. A second Multiplier-Amplifier-Coupler may be used for easy TX/RX switching.

    The Multiplier-Amplifier-Coupler includes a 1 - 20 GHz amplifier module that is chosen specifically for the application in which the unit will be used. Amplifiers with nominal gain of 24 dB, 36 dB and 45 dB are available.

    NSI-RF-5820 module includes a 1 – 20 GHz directional coupler.
    NSI-RF-5840 module includes a 20 – 40 GHz frequency multiplier and 1 – 40 GHz directional coupler.
    NSI-RF-5850 module includes a 20 – 40 GHz frequency doubler, a 33 – 50 GHz frequency quadrupler and a 1 – 50 GHz directional coupler.

    The coupled output includes an attenuator so that the coupled port can be directly connected to a mixer or receiver without need for further attenuation. For low-frequency operation down to 100 MHz (-X option), an additional passive low-frequency path uses a power divider and bypasses the amplifier. The unit is manually configured for the desired frequency band with the included jumper cables.
