NSI-MI Technologies’ Mixers provide RF to IF signal conversion for measurement by our Digital Receivers, an integral part of NSI-MI Technologies’ Microwave Measurement System.
Mixer modules for use with MI-750 Advanced Digital Receiver: The RF to IF conversion is accomplished by fundamental mixing up to 18 GHz and harmonic mixing for higher frequencies. This technique permits multi-octave frequency coverage with limited frequency range Local Oscillator (LO). Frequency diplexing in the digital Receiver allows the LO and 45 MHz IF signals to be carried on the same cable connecting the mixer and receiver.
Mixer modules for use with Distributed Frequency Converters: The DFC mixers are used with Panther 8100 or 9100 Receivers, or VNSs. The RF to IF conversion is accomplished by fundamental mixing up to 20 GHz and harmonic mixing for higher frequencies. Frequency diplexing in the LO/IF Unit allows the LO and IF signals to be carried on the same cable connecting the mixer and LO/IF Unit. The mixers include an amplifier that allows a very wide range of input LO power and allows for very long LO cables. The DC power is supplied through the LO/IF cable.
The mixers are typically mounted directly to or near the device being measured.
Mixers are shipped in operational condition. No special installation procedures, tools or external power source are required for installation or operation.
